The world premiere for the BMW Concept iX3 will turn the heads of visitors to Auto China 2018 in the direction of a new and extremely attractive form of sustainable mobility – and mark the beginning of the next chapter in the BMW Group’s electrification strategy.

With the new BMW M2 Competition, BMW M GmbH is setting fresh benchmarks in the compact high-performance sports car segment and adding marked refinement to the character of the BMW M2 Coupé.

On 23 March 2018, the new temporary exhibition opens in the BMW Museum focusing on the BMW i brand and its protagonists BMW i3 and BMW i8. The title of the exhibition is “BMW i. Visionary Mobility.” and it will present visionary mobility and vehicle concepts over a period of 18 months.

The BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe illustrates the meaning behind the letter “M” at BMW in impressive style: it stands for “more”, more of everything. As well as dynamic excellence, the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe embodies a new facet of luxury for the BMW brand – ultra-sporty, extrovert and polarising.

Racing technology and an expressive, high performance-oriented design help the BMW M2 achieve its exceptional position within the premium compact segment. The exclusive BMW M2 Coupe Edition Black Shadow emphasises the compact high-powered sports car’s performance characteristics with precisely harmonized design features. The edition model will be available from April 2018.

The BMW Group Plant Leipzig starts the series production of the BMW i8 Roadster. It is joined by the updated version of the BMW i8 Coupe in the line-up. Both vehicles are flexibly produced per customer demand in BMW Group Plant Leipzig within the same production line. The BMW i8 Roadster oozes all the freedom of open-top motoring for two with an electrically operated soft-top; while the new BMW i8 Coupe stands out as an extremely sporty 2+2 seater.

The all-new BMW X4 makes its mark by delivering individuality, dynamism and innovation in far greater doses. It is here to write the next chapter in the success story of the first ever Sports Activity Coupe at the premium end of the mid-size class. Approximately 200,000 units have been sold around the world since the first-generation X4 was launched in 2014.

The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer both offer ample space, impressive versatility, excellent comfort and the dynamic driving qualities for which the brand is renowned. Also equipped with the latest generation of engines, BMW’s updated premium compact models for the Sports Activity Tourer (SAT) segment will be available from March 2018.

Production of the first pre-production models of the new BMW X7 Sports Activity Vehicle has commenced at the BMW Group Spartanburg plant, USA. So the countdown has started for the final twelve months leading up to the presentation of the production car at the end of 2018.

Representatives of the BMW Group, the Czech government and the Karlovary Vary region announced construction of a new proving ground today in Prague. The roughly 500-hectare property will be developed in Sokolov in the Karlovary Vary region, close to the German border town of Waldsassen and about two-and-a-half hours’ drive from the BMW Group’s main development site, the Research and Development Centre (FIZ), in Munich.
